Town Of Hamburg Recreation Center
2982 Lakeview Rd., Hamburg, NY 14075
The Town of Hamburg Recreation Center is commonly called the “NIKE BASE”, a reference to the facilities days as the United States Army Base. Acquired as recreation land by the Town of Hamburg in 1969, the Nike Base is now home of the Recreation Department's relocated offices.
The complex also includes the Hamburg Town (Ice) Arena, a model air park and a BMX bicycle course. In addition, there are athletic fields for football, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, and softball (lighted). With strong community support, two major projects that will enhance the facility are currently under construction.
The first is a hill for sledding and snowboarding with materials and labor generously supplied by the Riefill Corporation. The second project, funded by the Hamburg Rotary Club, is the development of one more ball diamond.
The Town of Hamburg wishes to express its gratitude to these organizations for their commitment to the citizens of our Town.
