Message from Supervisor Shaw: Update COVID-19
My Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Effective Monday, 4/6/20 all Town parks and playgrounds will be closed to congregations of people in accord with COVID-19 guidelines. Taking a walk or jogging alone or with a few others will be permitted premised upon maintaining social distancing. Games of basketball or the use of playground equipment is prohibited pending further determination.
Gates to our playgrounds and parks will remain closed. Members of our B&G staff will monitor the most heavily trafficked parks and playgrounds to maintain compliance with this directive. Our Town Police Department will be called in the unlikely event that a police presence will be required to assist in keeping our parks and playgrounds closed to congregations of people. The message of this memorandum is contrary to the quality of life and practices we have all grown accustom to. However, this message is essential to the health and safety of our community.
My sincere thanks to all for your cooperation.
As of 3/23/2020, Hamburg Town Hall is CLOSED pending further notice due to the coronavirus crisis.
James M Shaw
Supervisor, Town of Hamburg
