Community Development Housing Programs
The Town's Department of Community Development has many different Housing Programs to assist its residents and even non-residents. If you are looking to buy your first home, the Town of Hamburg has its "First Time Home Buyer" program, which conditionally grants up to $10,000 in to purchase an existing home within the Town of Hamburg (includes the Villages of Blasdell & Hamburg as well as Lakeview, Woodlawn, etc.). If you already own your own home within the town and are looking to complete repairs to that home, the Town of Hamburg has its "Housing Renovation Loan program". No or low interest loans of up to $7,500 are available. Interest rates of 0%, 2.0% or 4% are available based upon an applicant's income. Income limits vary per family size. If you own your own "Mobile Home", the Town of Hamburg has a "Mobile Home Renovation Loan" program available for your use. The income guidelines are similar to the Housing Renovation program. Incomes and family sizes are similar, but the loan interest rates are slightly different. When funding is available, loans of up to $5,000 are available at a interest rate either 1%, 2.5% or 4%. The maximum pay-back for a loan is sixty (60) months.
